THE ROSS REVENGE TODAY
A pictorial tour of the famous Radio Caroline Ship
WELCOME ABOARD

Broadside view
When visiting the Ross Revenge, and you can do so at any time, this is the view as you approach. A number of people are visible on deck to meet the approaching dinghy, and help you aboard.
This view, taken in 1997, shows an interesting logo recently painted on the funnel - I have not yet met anybody who can tell me the significance.
The main studio is located near where the Radio Caroline banner has been hung, with just one porthole to the outside world.

General view on deckHaving climbed aboard, a bare deck cluttered with equipment is found. No gleaming tidy monster, this; it is a functional, working environment. This view is from the foredeck, looking back towards the bridge.

Amongst the equipment on the right is a generator, brought in to supplement to various ones in the former fish hold which were all giving trouble at the time.

In the seclusion of the back deck
Caught red-handed! Jolly Roger, and Mrs. Jolly Roger escape from the hubbub of the 1995 broadcast onto the aft deck. By tradition, CAROLINE and LA 558 have been painted in huge letters on this deck for the benefit of passing aircraft. LA stood for "Loving Awareness" which was promoted by the station in the 1980s. 558 was the wavelength.

This deck is little used as it is only accessible by steep ladders, and its common use has been for hanging washing out.
